The new ambient moniker of John Thornfield, Distance Learning explores minimalism and intricate textures on his debut EP Deep Water Libraries. Using field recordings from Norwegian glaciers and waterways, Thornfield paints a sonic landscape that's calming and incredibly moving, rich with life from the natural world. Let your senses come alive as you sink into the world of Distance Learning.

Thornfield released some of the first ambient releases on Inner Ocean Records when we launched back in 2012, then under the name Fontaine. We are thrilled to get to work alongside him again as he explores this new project!
